왜 디즈니에는 한국 캐릭터가 없을까? 라는 의문을 가진 하버드 학생인 줄리아 류는
한국의 전래동화인 심청전에서의 한 장면을 배경으로 직접 작곡한 노래를 불렀고 그 모습을 sns에 공유했습니다.
놀랍게도 이 영상은 전 세계적으로 뜨거운 반응을 불러일으켰으며,
이를 눈여겨 본 LG는 콥 스튜디오에게 노래에 맞춰 디즈니 캐릭터처럼 노래하는 심청이를 구현해 줄 것을 요청했습니다.
그렇게 해서 LG 그램 360의 광고가 탄생한 것입니다.
디즈니가 전래동화를 현대식으로 재해석했던 것처럼 줄리아 또한 심청전을 고전 그대로의 구현이 아닌 자신만의 감성으로 다시 쓰고자 했으며,
본 영상에서도 그러한 그녀의 의도를 받아들여 자신의 운명에 절망하는 것이 아니라 당당하게 맞서는 모습으로 그렸습니다.

Why is there no Korean character in Disney animations? Julia Riew, a Harvard student who had this question,
composed and sang a song from a Korean folktale called Shimcheongjeon and when it was shared on SNS,
surprisingly her clip went viral on tik-tok and sparked a heated response all around the world.
Then LG, who noticed her potential, asked Cobb Studio to create an animation of Shimcheong singing like a Disney character.
That was how the LG gram 360 commercial was born.

And Just as Disney reinterpreted fairy tales in a modern way, Julia also wanted to rewrite Simcheongjeon with her own ideas,
not a classic embodiment.
So together, we have created Simcheong who does not yield to her tragedy but faces her fate courageously.<
